Xi: 'If we do not fail nature, nature shall never fail us'

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday called for a harmonious relationship between human society and nature, saying "If we do not fail nature, nature shall never fail us."

Xi made the remarks in his 2022 New Year Address delivered through China Media Group and the internet on New Year's Eve.

"A Yellow River well harnessed is a millennia-long aspiration of the Chinese people," Xi said, recalling China's efforts and achievements in environmental protection and ecological preservation.
