32 dead in Tajik prison riot: reports

At least three guards and 29 inmates were killed in a high-security prison in Tajikistan after a riot was started, according to reports on Monday.

Local authorities said the riot took place on late Sunday in the prison in Tajikistan's city of Vakhdat, which is 10 km away from the capital cityDushanbe.

Security forces have killed 24 militants and restored order in the prison which houses 1,500 inmates, Reuters reported citing local officials.
