Nirmala Pant rape-murder case: Nationwide protests held today

KATHMANDU, Sept 15 – Alleging the government of failing to book the guilty in the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta of Kanchanpur, civil society members organized a huge demonstration in Kathmandu today.

The rally with the banner "Justice for Nirmala" was organized coinciding the 50^th^ day since the 13-year-old girl was found dead in Kanchanpur. The demonstration began from Maitighar Mandala and converged into an assembly at New Baneswor.

Meanwhile, protests have been held in other parts of the country, including Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, Birgunj, Pokhara, and Kanchanpur on Saturday demanding justice for Nirmala.
