Vietnam reports no new COVID-19 cases in 36 hours, first time in over 1 month

Vietnam reported no new cases of COVID-19 infections in the past 36 hours, the first time in over a month since the country confirmed its 17th infection case on March 6, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The country has confirmed 268 COVID-19 cases with the latest one reported on Thursday morning. It has seen 198 cases cured with no deaths recorded as of Friday evening, while there are 568 suspected cases with over 73,000 being monitored and quarantined, according to its health ministry.

Vietnam launched a 15-day nationwide social distancing against the COVID-19 epidemic on April 1, which was announced to be continued for at least another week in 12 cities and provinces including the capital city of Hanoi.
