Number of COVID-19 cases rises to 12 in Mauritius

The number of COVID-19 cases in Mauritius increased by 5 on Friday to 12, said by Prime minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth during his speech at the National Assembly of Mauritius.

Jugnauth also confirmed that a Mauritian who traveled from Britain as the first patient of COVID-19 in Mauritius. A total of 39 people who contacted with him have been traced, including the first nine cases of COVID-19 in Mauritius.

In addition, the National Assembly of Mauritius will be adjourned until April 3 due to the national confinement which comes into effect on Friday.
