Jordan, Japan discuss cooperation, anti-terror war

Jordan and Japan on Sunday discussed ways to boost cooperation in economic and defense fields and efforts in the war against terrorism.

The talks in Amman between Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his visiting Japanese counterpart Keisuke Suzuki also covered regional and international developments and efforts aimed at reaching solutions to Middle East crises, according to a ministry statement obtained by Xinhua.

Safadi told the Japanese official about the Jordanian government's programs aimed at improving the economic performance and growth rates.

For his part, Suzuki hailed Jordan's role in maintaining peace and stability in the region and its support for Syrian refugees.
