ISLAMABAD, July 2 (APD) -- Pakistani snooker player Muhammad Sajjad won the Asian 6-Red Snooker Championship title in Kyrgyzstan on Sunday.

Sajjad, 31, outclassed Lee Chun Wai of China’s Hong Kong in a one-sided match by 7-0 to win the Asian 6-Red Snooker Championship in Bishqik, Kyrgyzstan.

Earlier on Saturday, Sajjad beat Pakistan’s rising start Muhammad Bilal 6-3 in the semifinal to reach the final round of the tournament.

This is his second major title, and the second Asian 6-Red Snooker Championship title, for Pakistan. Earlier, Pakistan’s Muhammad Asif won the same title in Qatar in 2013.

Pakistan sent its four top snookers players for the tournament including Muhammad Sajjad, Mohammad Bilal, Asjad Iqbal and Babar Masih.

Sajjad qualified for the final of the 2014 IBSF World Snooker Championship in India, but lost to 14-year-old Yan Bingtao of China who by winning the event became the youngest ever world champion.

Meanwhile, Bilal, who had defeated Indian superstar snooker champion Pankaj Advani 2-6 in the quarterfinal, has claimed bronze medal in the event.

A total of 38 players from China’s Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and United Arab Emirates participated in the tournament.

Now Pakistani team will feature in the Asian Team Snooker Championship starting on Tuesday at the same venue.
