The Australian dollar fell to its lowest level in six years on Monday in response to strong U.S. employment data.

On Monday morning the dollar was trading at 77.07 U.S. cents, down from 78.01 U.S. cents on Friday.

The U.S. dollar strengthened after official unemployment rate fell to 5.5 percent from 5.7 percent in February.
