Libyan defense minister's son has been freed after being held by kidnappers for four months, a spokesperson of the Defense Ministry said on Monday evening.

Mohammed Abduallah al-Theni is in good condition, Abdul Razzak Sabahi said in a statement without giving further details.

In September 2013, al-Theni, 26, was abducted by unknown assailants in the southern suburb of the Libyan capital of Tripoli. The kidnapping was reportedly linked to his father's iron fist against armed militias which were rampant in the country.
