Mueller testimony to U.S. House panels delayed to July 24: reports

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller will testify before two U.S. House of Representatives committees on July 24, one week later than originally scheduled, the chairmen of the panels said in a statement on Friday.

Mueller had been scheduled to testify July 17 about the findings of his Russia investigation. But lawmakers in both parties complained that the short length of the hearings would not allow enough time for all members to ask questions.

Under the new arrangement, Mueller will testify for an extended period of time with the House Judiciary and intelligence committees.

Mueller's report, released publicly in April, found Russia meddled in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and that Republican President Donald Trump's election campaign had multiple contacts with Russian officials.
