Qatar Airways announced Thursday lift of ban on electronic devices in cabins for U.S.-bound flights.

The state-owned flag carrier of Qatar said on its official website that the lift of ban, effective immediately, came as the company and the airport had met with all requirements of the U.S. new security guidelines.

The U.S. first lifted the ban on flights from Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Sunday.

The three-month ban was also lifted for flights from Istanbul, Turkey, to the United States.

The U.S. banned in March devices larger than a smart phone in cabins on U.S.-bound flights from 10 airports in eight countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Turkey, citing the threat of bombs hidden in the electronics.
