Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro blasted opposition protesters on Sunday for setting a man on fire during a rally the previous day.

Maduro accused the protesters of targeting the man for being pro-government, identifying the victim as 21-year-old Orlando Figuera. He is currently being treated in hospital for severe burns.

Witnesses to the incident on Saturday afternoon said protesters had accused Figuera of being a thief. Some among about 100 anti-Maduro demonstrators had doused Figuera in gasoline and set him alight.
