Chinese skater Jin Boyang wins men's singles at Finlandia Trophy

China's Jin Boyang, bronze medalist in the 2017 World Figure Skating Championships, won gold in the men's singles on Saturday at the Finlandia Trophy competition in Espoo, southern Finland.

Jin, 20, was second after the short program on Friday, and he finally won the title with a total of 252.60 points.

American Vincent Zhou, the 2017 world junior champion, took the silver medal with 250.01 points, and the bronze medal went to Zhou's teammate Adam Rippon with 249.88 points.

The short program leader Mikhail Kolyada of Russia, who won the bronze medal at the 2017 European Figure Skating Championships, dropped to fourth place after the free skate.

The annual Finlandia Trophy International Figure Skating Competition, part of the ISU Challenger Series, is held at Metro Arena in Espoo. The event kicked off on Friday and will continue until Sunday.
