NPC passes resolution on HKSAR LegCo members' qualification

Chinese lawmakers on Wednesday voted to adopt a decision on the qualification of members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

The resolution said lawmakers who endanger national security, support the so-called "Hong Kong independence" and seek foreign meddling in Hong Kong affairs, will be disqualified immediately.

The decision was passed at the 23rd session of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress, China's top legislature. The session concluded Wednesday.
