Documentary series on China's poverty alleviation to show on Aug. 24

A documentary series on China's fight against poverty amid the COVID-19 epidemic will be aired by the country's state broadcaster starting Aug. 24, said the producer.

Made by the Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio, the documentary series depicts how towns and villages across the country braved challenges brought by the COVID-19 epidemic to secure anti-poverty achievements.

According to the producer, the documentary series focuses on stories of villagers, introducing the various approaches China has adopted to fight poverty, including poverty alleviation through relocation and pairing assistance.

The studio plans to shoot 30 episodes, with each running for 20 minutes. The first batch of 10 episodes will be aired starting Aug. 24.
