Adele fans have gathered outside Wembley for a sing-along to show support for the singer.

They took matters into their own hands after Adele was forced to cancel the final two shows of her tour due to damaged vocal cords.

A social media call with the #SingForAdele hashtag urged people to give their own rendition of her tracks.

"Adele can't sing for us, but we can sing for her," it said.

In the early hours of Saturday, Adele posted a lengthy apology to her fans for having to cancel Saturday and Sunday's shows.

The Hello singer, who had performed to sellout crowds at Wembley on Wednesday and Thursday, said she went to see a throat doctor on Friday night, who advised her not to perform the final two shows.
