Tensions and disturbances have deepened in the last few days in Afghanistan after talks with Taliban failed.
According to recent reports, fighting has increased particularly in northern Afghanistan, after President Trump cancelled talks with Taliban last week.
Violence and fighting between security forces and Taliban have particularly grown in the provinces of Takhar, Baghlan, Kunduz and Badakhshan.
Last week the security forces took back the district of Koran-Wa-Monjan in the province of Badakhshan that Taliban had captured earlier.
However, fighting is still going on in the districts of Khawja Ghar and Ishkamesh in Takhar.
A Reuters report quoted, Jawad Hejri, the spokesperson for the Takhar provincial governor explaining, “It is a tactical retreat to avoid civilian casualties in the area. We have fresh forces in the area and soon the districts will be recaptured.”
Meanwhile the president called for a ceasefire with Taliban, however the latter has reacted strongly against it. In the last bomb blast in Kabul at least 11 people were killed as well as an American soldier.
