The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Sunday accepted an offer put forward by the Republic of Korea (ROK) that the latter will send an advance team for joint skiing training with the DPRK at its ski resort ahead of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

The three-day training program is set to start later this week at the Mount Kumgang area and the DPRK's Masikryong Ski Resort near Wonsan in its eastern province of Kangwon.

The decision was announced one day after four-party meetings chaired by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach declared that the organization will grant accreditation to the National Olympic Committee of the DPRK for 22 athletes in three sports and five disciplines for the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, which will be held from Feb. 9-25.
