An award presentation ceremony of the 2014-15 Smoke-free Youth Ambassador Leadership Training Program was held here on Tuesday, to commend the outstanding youngsters who have promoted a healthy smoke-free living atmosphere in the community.

During the ceremony, the champion team from Lingnan Dr Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School shared their tips and experience in organizing promotion activities under the theme of " Smoke-free, Love and Continuity".

Over 300 youngsters, aged 14 to 18, from more than 30 secondary schools, youth centers and uniform groups in Hong Kong enrolled for the 2014-15 program. They joined a two-day leadership training camp last summer to receive knowledge on tobacco hazards and tobacco control measures.

Between September and December 2014, they applied their knowledge to initiate more than 100 innovative programs reaching over 30,000 citizens to disseminate the moke-free message in their schools and community.

Organized by the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health annually since 2012, the program has nurtured more than 1,000 Smoke-free Youth Ambassadors.
