China firmly opposes wanton use of unilateral sanctions

China firmly opposes unilateral sanctions being imposed, or the threat of sanctions by the United States on other countries, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Monday, stating that acts of bullying are facing growing boycotts and opposition.

Wang Wenbin made the remarks at a daily news briefing in response to a query on the sanctions imposed on Russia by the U.S. and other European countries.

Noting theChina-Russia comprehensive strategicpartnership of coordination for a new era, Wang said that China and Russia will continue to understand and support each other in safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests.
