Global COVID-19 deaths reached 450,137.Total casesworldwide stood at 8,397,036.

NEW YORK, June 18 (Xinhua) -- Global COVID-19 deaths surpassed 450,000 on Thursday, reaching 450,137 as of 12:33 p.m. (1633 GMT), according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

Meanwhile, total COVID-19 cases around the world rose to 8,397,036, according to the CSSE.

The United States reported the most COVID-19 cases and deaths, standing at 2,173,256 and 117,972, respectively. Other countries with over 20,000 fatalities include Brazil, Britain, Italy, France and Spain, the CSSE data showed.
