Named "Origami for Life," the initiative aims at raising funds to help support a COVID-19 special care unit in a local hospital. /VCG

Most of the birds were folded by inhabitants all over the country as a token of solidarity during the city's first COVID-19 lockdown. /VCG

The installation will remain on display until February 2021. /VCG

Shops in Belgium start to reopen on December 1, but gatherings over Christmas are still limited as countries across Europe are battling a second wave of COVID-19 infections. /VCG
