After receiving supplies, the physical condition of trapped miners in east China's Shandong Province have reportedly improved, according to People's Daily on Tuesday.

Twenty-two miners have been trapped underground following a gold mine blast at 2 p.m. on January 10 in Qixia, Yantai City in Shandong. Twelve of the miners have been located while the situation of the other 10 remains unclear, according to rescuers.

On Sunday night, miners sent a note through a rescue hole drilled by rescuers, which says those trapped were "heavily exhausted and in urgent need of stomach medicine, painkillers, medical tape, external anti-inflammatory drugs, and three people have high blood pressure."
