China adds 15 new national level e-commerce demonstration bases

China added 15 national level e-commerce demonstration bases as the country's strong enough e-commerce has accelerated its developing pace during the pandemic.

Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Qian Keming announced the move in the 2020 China E-commerce Conference on Saturday in Beijing. Most of the 15 new bases are in east and southeast China, where e-commerce is better developed.

In 2019, the total e-commerce transactions of 112 national e-commerce demonstration bases reached 5.37 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.6 percent, according to the Ministry of Commerce, and more than 58,000 e-commerce and related companies with 1.2 million employees settled in.

So far, there are 127 national e-commerce demonstration bases nationwide.
