China renews alert for rainstorms

Rainstorms will continue to hit parts of China over the next 24 hours, according to the official meteorological forecasts Friday.

From Friday night to Saturday night, heavy rain and rainstorms are expected in some parts of Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Guizhou and Guangxi, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said.

Geological disasters are expected in parts of Guizhou, Chongqing, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Hubei and Hunan, said another alert issued by the NMC and the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Since the beginning of June, downpours have hit large parts of south, east and central China.
