suicide car bombing has hit a gas station in Lebanon's eastern Bekaa town of Hermel, leaving at least four people dead and 20 others wounded, caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel told local LBCI TV Saturday.

A huge fire erupted in the gas station following the explosion, and the civil defense teams are trying to put it off.

Meanwhile, ambulances and the Red Cross teams are evacuating the victims.

Hermel, which is considered the heartland of Lebanon's militant movement Hezbollah, has recently been targeted by a wave of rocket attacks from the Syrian territory.

On Jan. 16, a car bomb near an army barrack in Hermel killed three people and injured over 20.
