Multiple deaths reported in U.S. shooting

At least three people were killed and more than 20 others injured when an employee went on a shooting spree on Thursday in the midwestern U.S. state of Kansas, local authorities said.

The shootings took place at about four or five scenes and ended at the shooter's place of work, where he shot his colleagues, T. Walton, a Kansas county sheriff, told a news briefing.

Walton said the suspect was driving and shooting from his car before he was killed by authorities inside his company, Excel Industries, which is located in Hesston, a small community about 56 km north of Wichita, Kansas' largest city.

The shooting at Excel Industries reportedly occurred around 5 p.m. local time (2300 GMT), causing Hesston College, a two-year institution a few blocks away, to be locked down for about two hours. Enditem
