New Delhi, Feb.15 (APD) - US President Donald Trump on Saturday commented on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his popularity on Facebook, ahead of his India visit.
Through Twitter, Trump said, “Great honour, I think? Mark Zuckerberg recently stated, “Donald J. Trump is Number 1 on Facebook. Number 2 is Prime Minister Modi of India.” Actually, I am going to India in two weeks. Looking forward to it!”
The US President is scheduled to visit India on February 24 and 25. He will be visiting Delhi as well as Ahmedabad, a city in the province of Gujarat.
Modi, on his part had also reached out to Trump. On Wednesday, he had said on Twitter that Trump’s visit, “will go a long way in further cementing India-US friendship.”
“This visit is a very special one and it will go a long way in further cementing India-USA friendship,” the Indian Prime Minister further added.
Meanwhile, a White House statement informed that on the first day of their visit, President Trump, and First Lady Melania Trump, will visit Gujarat, Prime Minister Modi’s home state.
The statement said, “It played an important role in Mahatma Gandhi’s life and leadership of the Indian independence movement.”
While there, Trump will also inaugurate Motera’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium, one of the largest stadiums in the world.
In Delhi, President Trump is expected to sign trade and defence deals and meet prominent Indian leaders and businessmen.
