Central China's Hubei Province, which was hit hard by COVID-19, announced Monday that the province's national college entrance exam, also known as Gaokao, would be postponed by one month to July 7 and 8.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) made a decision on March 31 to delay the exam by one month to July 7 and 8 across the country due to the novel coronavirus epidemic.

The provincial epidemic prevention and control authorities said that students in the final year of senior high schools in Hubei will restart classes on May 6.

The school reopening dates for other grades in the province will be made public later on the basis of the epidemic prevention and control situation in different places, the authorities said.
