Chinese e-commerce platform Beidian helps farmers sell agricultural products amid COVID-19 outbreak

Wang Mengzhou，a fruit farmer from Jintang County,southwest China’s Sichuan Province, helps local farmers sell over one million pounds of fruit through Chinese e-commerce platform Beidian. Zhang Tingru, leader of "one county one product" poverty alleviation project of Beidian,said that those small-scale fruit farmers would run into bankruptcy in the coming weeks if the transportation lockdown persisted.

Beidian launches "help farmers" program and "love for farmers" special show.Moreover,Beidian opens the green channel, online flow and intelligent supply chain in order to boost sales of local unmarketable agricultural products，Zhang Tingru added.

Since the first notice of resumption of work, Jintang County has sold more than 0.75 million kilograms of fruit through Beidian, according to Jintang County Bureau of Commerce.
