China's Ministry of Commerce said that it will take the measures needed to protect the legitimate rights of Chinese companies after the U.S. added seven Chinese entities to its export control list.
The ministry's spokesperson Shu Jueting made the comments at a news conference on Thursday.
The newly-added Chinese entities were mainly in the aerospace and related technology sectors. The U.S. Commerce Department said on Tuesday that the move will strictly restrict the entities' access to commodities, software, and technologies with additional licensing requirements.
The U.S. authorities said the move was based on so-called "activities contrary to U.S. national security and foreign policy interests."
Shu said that the U.S. has repeatedly broadened the concept of "national security" and has abused policy measures such as export control, using state power to suppress and contain enterprises and institutions in other countries.
The U.S. action has seriously damaged normal economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and U.S. companies, Shu added.
American action against China also undermines market rules and the international economic and trade order, and posts a serious threat to the stability of the global industrial and supply chains, she said.
