China Logistics Prosperity Index remains in the expansion zone in July

China's Logistics Prosperity Index for July was 50.9%, remaining in the expansion zone and reflecting a stable overall logistics demand and a favorable trend, China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Saturday.

In terms of market demand, the new orders index for the logistics industry in July was 50.6%, rising 0.2 percentage point compared to the previous month. The new orders indexes for railway, road, and air transportation, as well as warehousing logistics and postal express, have all remained in the expansion zone.

Among all, the business volume index for road transportation was 53.9%, continuously rising since May; the business volume index for air transportation was 53.2%, up 1.2 percentage points from June; the business volume index for postal express in July was 66.5%, remaining in a high prosperity zone.

As upstream demand gradually recovers, China's logistics industry saw a relatively favorable trend in the improvement of new orders, Liu Yuhang, director of China Logistics Information Center mentioned. He added that China's logistics demand remains relatively strong, especially in the areas of consumer goods, e-commerce, and new energy manufacturing.
