**ISLAMABAD, Feb. 9 (APD) -- **Pakistani people are continuously contributing and playing their role in China’s fight against novel coronavirus.
The latest contribution was made by a group of people led by the adviser on cooperation between ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Communist Party of China Bayazeed Kasi who handed over 50,000 facemasks to the Chinese embassy in Islamabad for Chinese people fight against coronavirus.
Talking to the Asia Pacific Daily (APD), Kasi said all Pakistanis are praying every day for the Chinese friends’ success in their fight against the novel coronavirus.
“We are not only praying but small groups in Pakistan are trying to contribute for the cause and to help our Chinese brothers and sister,” said the adviser, adding, “it is not a big thing but a small token of love from Pakistani people to Chinese brother and sisters.”
The adviser added that Pakistanis are very happy that the Chinese government is working day and night with its experts to eliminate the virus and stop it from spreading.
Kasi, the young emerging political leader in Pakistan, also requested Pakistani people as well as people across the world to play their role against the coronavirus and expressed his confidence in China that it would come out as victorious from the prevailing situation.
The Pakistani government, its leadership from the ruling side as well as from opposition and common people have been showing solidarity with China and Chinese people since the virus broke out last month.
Despite a lot of propaganda pressure and temptation from western media, Pakistani students in China and their families have supported the Pakistani government’s decision not to evacuate citizens from China showing trust in China.
Pakistani President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan sent separate solidarity letters to their counterparts in China vowing to support in every thick and thin situation.
Pakistan was one of the countries that were first to send medical supplies for Wuhan. Pakistan sent a supply of medical material through its own military areophane, including medical masks, hazmat suits, gloves, and other medical items from the stock of its public hospitals.
Earlier on Monday, China expressed gratitude to Pakistan for standing firmly with China in fighting the coronavirus and offering medical supplies. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying also thanked other countries like Pakistan, who have expressed their full confidence in China's anti-virus efforts, adding that China has the confidence and capability to win the fight against the outbreak as soon as possible and safeguard the life and health of their citizens in China.
