Death toll from floods in Assam, India rises to 179

Five more people died in floods on Sunday, bringing the total number of deaths due to floods in the state to 179, according to the report released by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, India on Sunday.

26 districts, over 1.83 million people are still affected by floods. Since the rainstorm first hit the region last month, millions of people in Assam have been affected.
