As many as 30 death cases were confirmed on Thursday from COVID-19 in Algeria, in addition to 94 new infection cases, according to Head of COVID-19 Detection and Follow-up Commission Djamel Fourar.
Fourar said on a press conference that 30 new death cases have been reported from March 31 to April 9 after test results confirmed that they died from COVID-19, noting that the total death toll rose to 235.
Fourar added that 94 new infection cases were also confirmed during the past 24 hours, as the overall infections surged to 1,666 cases.
As many as 347 patients have been cured, according to the official.
Authorities have imposed a 24-hour lockdown measure in the province of Blida, the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak in this North African nation.
