Security forces foiled a terror bid and arrested two militants in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province on Monday, an army statement said.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army's media wing, said in the statement that paramilitary troops Frontier Corps (FC) carried out a search operation in Killa Abdullah area of the province.

The forces arrested two militants and recovered 2,000 kg of explosive materials from the area during the operation, the statement added.

This is the second military operation in the area over the last 24 hours.

On Sunday, a militant belonging to a banned outfit was arrested and arms were recovered from his custody during a raid by the FC in the area.

The recent offensives are a continuation of Operation "Radd ul Fasaad," going on in various parts of the country since February this year.

The joint operation by army and other law enforcement agencies aims to eradicate the hidden sleeper cells of militants across the country.
