More than 62 people died, and 100 were wounded at a mosque on Friday, as multiple explosions brought down the roof on people who were praying at the mosque in Nangarhar province.

Sohrab Qaderi, a member of the provincial council in Nangarha said, “People using an excavator are still working to bring out the bodies and injured from under the roof.”

The bombs went off in the Jawdara area of Haska Mena district. So far no group has claimed the responsibility for the explosion, while the government is blaming Taliban insurgents for the blast.

The insurgents have been asking for the imposition of strict Islamic law in Afghanistan. Currently, both Taliban and ISIS are operating in Afghanistan.
