Six killed in coal mining accident in west Georgia

An accident in a coal mine in western Georgia's Tkibuli killed at least six people on Thursday, according to the country's Internal Ministry.

They were working under the mine while the roof collapsed. Three others were hospitalized.

Preliminary information indicates that the deformed walls in one of the mine’s tunnel might have been the cause of the accident.

An investigation is underway for possible safety violations.
