Rwanda's Kagame in landslide poll win with around 98% of votes

Central African country Rwanda went to the polls on Friday to select a new president for the next seven years.

Rwanda's incumbent leader Paul Kagame won 98.66% of the 80% of votes cast at the national level in Friday's polls, National Electoral Commission of Rwanda (NEC) announced.

This crushing victory in presidential elections granted him a third term in office, extending his 17 years in power.
