China’s Long March-5 Y2 carrier rocket blasted off from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in southern Hainan Province on Sunday.

It's the second launch mission for the Long March-5 rocket after its maiden flight in November 2016.

The Long March-5 is designed to lift space station components, deep-space probes, and communications satellites into orbit.

The rocket is carrying the Shijian-18 satellite, which is set to conduct many experiments in the Earth's orbit.

During the mission, the rocket will also provide logistical support for the Chang'e-5 lunar probe, scheduled to be launched in the second half of this year.
