Xi calls for stronger judiciary

China's new Communist Party leader, Xi Jinping has called for further reforms of judicial, prosecution and public security organs, to fight corruption to ensure justice in every case.

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee said, quote:

"Procuratorial, judicial and public security organs should strive to ensure the public have justice in each judicial case and socialism with Chinese characteristics is developed smoothly..."

Xi said they play a crucial role in safeguarding economic development, national security, and social stability...

And asked them to deepen reform of the country's judicial system, strictly supervise the police and improve law enforcement capabilities to make the public feel safer...

As well as respond to public calls for justice and protection of rights and interests, and to build up rule of law in China.

China's new leaders have been making their best efforts to win public trust and support, after former Party Chief, Hu Jintao, warned corruption was the greatest threat to the party's existence...

In the often-cited eight-point bureaucracy-busting instructions issued at the December Political Bureau meeting, they urged authorities to shed banquets and bureaucracy, and forge closer ties with the masses...
