New York City is welcoming students back to school

After being the U.S. epicenter for COVID-19, New York City is welcoming its 500,000 students back to school.

Its now the first big U.S. city to reopen all schools to in-person instruction. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio has faced criticism for fully reopening schools during the pandemic, which led him to push the start date back twice. NYC has the largest school system in the country.
