China-ASEAN Cultural Exchange Year-2014 closes in Nay Pyi Taw

The China-ASEAN Cultural Exchange Year- 2014 ceremonially closed in Myanmar's capital of Nay Pyi Taw Tuesday night, demonstrating to the world that China and ASEAN have made rich achievements in cultural exchange and cooperation.

The China-ASEAN cultural exchange year was the first of its kind organized by China and the regional organization.

Starting April this year, under the theme of "Our Culture, Our Future," China and countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) cooperated to hold a variety of over 100 activities.

They included China-ASEAN cultural forum, film week, painting show, Nanyang cultural festival, China-ASEAN international car rally, covering performance, exhibition, personnel training and exchange, news, TV and video, publication, sports, tourist, religion and youth exchange.

Artists said the cultural exchange year has enhanced the spiritual link between peoples of China and ASEAN, and increased their mutual understanding and friendship.
