COVID-19 vaccines seek emergency approval

The UK may have scored a world first for approval and distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine, but the U.S. isn't far behind.

Drugmaker Pfizer plans to distribute the first batches of its vaccine in the U.S. by December 15, with rival Moderna not far behind.

But before they can move forward, both companies will need emergency approval from U.S. authorities.
