Job vacancies for Australian university graduates in 2014 have hit the lowest point in more than 20 years, a new survey released on Wednesday shows.

The 2014 Australian Graduate Survey shows 32 percent of graduates looking for full-time work had not found a job four months after completing their degree.

According to the survey of 100,000 students, conducted by Graduate Careers Australia, graduate job opportunities have failed to recover following the 2008 global financial crisis.

This year just 68 percent of graduates found work compared to 85 percent of students before the crisis.

More than 97.5 percent of medical students, and 82.8 of engineering students found jobs shortly after graduation, representing the most in-demand degrees. This compares to 57 percent of chemistry students and 44 percent of visual/performing arts students.
