Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to visit Manila

**MANILA, July 21 (APD) ** – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is scheduled to meet his Philippine counterpart Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano on Tuesday, July 25.

According to a statement from the Department of Foreign Affairs this afternoon, Minister Wang Yi will sign the Guest Book at 10:20 A.M. and begin his bilateral meeting with Secretary Cayetano at 10:30 A.M.

They are scheduled to sign a Memorandum of Understanding at 11:30 A.M. and entertain questions from the media during the press conference scheduled at 11:40 A.M.

All these events will be held at Shangri-La Hotel at the Fort in Makati City.

Chinese Minister Wang Yi last visited Manila in November 10,2015, two years after then Foreign Secretary Albert F. Del Rosario invited him to visit Manila.

The visit this coming week is a welcome development.

As far as former Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce (FFCCCI)

President Dr. Francis Chua is concerned, the relationship between China and the Philippines is at its best since President Rodrigo Duterte took office.

Business leader George Barcelon, president of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) said the relations between China and the Philippines has been positive.
