Chileans overwhelmingly voted in favor of rewriting the country’s constitution on Sunday.

Nearly 80 percent of voters approved a process that will run until 2022 and that aims to address the country’s high levels of inequality.

Holding thisreferendumwas the central demand of protests that gripped the nation over the last year.

CGTN’s Joel Richardsreports.
