A 17-year-old boy suspected of being an outstanding runaway was shot by police on the campus of Roosevelt High School in Honolulu Tuesday morning after allegedly stabbing a Honolulu police officer.
Honolulu Police Department officials told local media that the boy also punched two others officers before being shot.
The boy was sent to hospital at around 8:30 a.m. local time ( 1830 GMT), the Hawaii News Now reported.
The suspect will be charged with three counts of attempted murder, a police department spokesperson told a press conference.
All the students of the school were release at 10:00 a.m. local time (2000 GMT) due to the incident.
Honolulu is more than 2,000 miles (about 3,200 kilometers) southwest from the U.S. West Coast.
