Chinese prosecutors have been improving their services and exploring new approaches to dispute resolution to help boost the recovery of businesses affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP).

In the latest typical cases the SPP made public, prosecutors exercised their supervisory power in the enforcement of administrative punishment decisions and helped eligible business owners get removed from the blacklist of credit defaulters so that they can return to business operation soon.

In another case, prosecutors held an open hearing and decided not to detain a suspect who confessed the crime and compensated the victim company its financial losses.

"The SPP efforts better safeguarded the legitimate rights and interests of private businesses and contributed to the resumption of work and production," said Miao Shengming, an official with the SPP.

The SPP urged procuratorial organs across the country to draw guidance from the typical cases in fulfilling their duties.
