Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) sends Spring Festival greetings

Prachanda, chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre), has expressed his goodwill and best regards to the Chinese people on the occasion of the Chinese New Year.

In a New Year's congratulatory letter on Tuesday, he said “On the auspicious occasion of the Chinese New Year beginning 16th February 2018, I would like to extend warm greetings to all friends in the People’s Republic of China and all around the world who are celebrating the New Year as Year of the dog.”

Prachanda said that under the dynamic leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping, China will achieve greater development in the New Year.

“I have the pleasure in sending my wishes to the Chinese people for their continued peace, progress and prosperity under the dynamic leadership of His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC),” he said.

“Harmony and dialogue, understanding and trust are the important notions that Chinese cultural tradition has embraced over centuries. I trust that the Year of the Dog would further consolidate the collective wellbeing and accelerate the inclusive and efficient development process of China which has been the engine of growth and prosperity for the world,” said the chairman.

Prachanda also expressed his will to further develop relation with China.

“I believe the long-standing relations between Nepal and the People's Republic of China that is characterized by ever deepening people-level relations would be further strengthened in the Year of the Dog with continued trust and understanding,” he said.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, is a Nepalese politician and the chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist-Centre). He was the Prime Minister of Nepal from 2008 to 2009 and again from 2016 to 2017.
